My Polish Purchases for September 2013

So I have a confession.  I am a polish addict.  I suck badly at applying it, just wait for the swatches.  They are for color reasons not for gee look how great I apply and how wonderful my nails are.  I pick at them, they are short.  But still I love the stuff.  Shiny, Matte, Glittery, Chunky, Blues, Reds, Purples, Brown and Black, it doesn't matter.  Any Color, any finish...I love them all.  I started this obsession in January.  Before then I had 3 Avon polishes and four NYC polishes.  And only used them when it was important to do so.  Now I own about 133 polishes, Many Julep, but we got More NYC, Wet N Wild, Zoya, Opi, Essie, Pure Ice, Sinful Colors, Sally Hansen, Revlon, Cover Girl and more.  I have many Nail art items, brushes, tools nail art polishes.  It is ridiculous.  And I want more.  They beckon me in my sleep..no not really but when I am in the store they beckon me from the shelf.  Yesterday I bought 5.  I didn't have an Essie and I found some.  I was good and showed restraint.  I chose one.  It only took 20 minutes to decide which color was coming home with me.  Then I turned around and there in all its glory was a Nicole by OPI Modern Family edition OMG PURPLE, in its cute ass little curved bottle.  Yep I snatched it up.  Also just as exciting was the get $1.00 off NOW coupon attached to the cap.  Then a little further while I was looking at my other obsession makeup I saw Wet N Wild polish but not just any,  The FERGIE collection.  I did not hesitate, it eased my despair that there were no makeup products from that line or the Drew Barrymore line to be found.  The Pure Ice was on clearance and I didn't own a color of this nature a nice melon color, and then I picked a NYC poo brown.  Why would one want a polish that looks like poo?  Well for Autumn Nail art silly.  You can't have a black or red turkey.  As a bonus I included two polish mini's.  One a Ruffian polish recieved in my Birchbox, and the second was a Color Club polish mini a friend sent to me, she had recieved it in one of her sample boxes as well.  So today i share with you these finds and what I think about ALL of  them.

First off I'd like to say that I am not dissapointed at all in my buys.

I'm going from least expensive to most....

Pure Ice. Can't Stop.. Price on sale $1.25

This color is a melon-orange color, perhaps tangerine.  It went on very opaque with one coat and I was surprised.  I did more than one coat for picture reasons.

NYC..Brownstone  $1.99

I love this opaque in one coat brown color.  It is a true brown that applies creamy, It dries relatively quickly.  Perfect for your Autumn nail art designs or base. Such as turkies, trees, etc..

Wet N Wild Fergie Collection;  Heels of Steel  Price $3.00

This polish is a nice Silver color with shimmer in it.  The name Fergie is embellished on the cap rim and the bottle itself.  It has the nice wide rounded brush I love from Wet N Wild.  You definately need 2 coats for a nice opaque appearance.

Essie- Wicked- Price $6.00

Wow if you want a true blood, vampy, oxblood color this is it.  I love the color, the finish and the smoothness of my nail after it dries.  My only complaint would be I HATE the brush.  It is very skinny.  It took 5 swipes to cover 1 nail and my nails are almost preteen sized.  Perhaps it is a fluke.  But I will be purchasing more Essie colors in the future.  I needed a color like this!  I had a swatch on my nail but it is only 5am and the lighting stinks and it came out bright red but in person it is deep wine colored.  Looks like a bottle of fake blood.

Last full size but not least
Nicole by OPI Modern Family Edition- What's the Mitch-uation  Priced $7.00 but had $1.00 off coupon attached so $6.00.  Also a tip, you can find coupons for OPI by Nicole polishes monthly in magazines such as All You and even your Sunday circulars.  This is a Jewel-tone like purple,  Goes on very nice, no streaking and dries quickly.  Much better than any of the OPI by Sephora polishes I own.  I was not happy with those.  My faith in OPI has been restored!

Polish Mini Reviews

Ruffian- Fox Hunt.  Received in my Birch Box.  3/24.00 or single polish $10.00

Okay upon further inspection this is Full size at .17 oz  There is a unique lid on the bottle, reminds me of a Asian influence.  Nice color, okay application  The color is a red-orange.  You definitely need more than one coat for opaqueness.  The biggest issue I have is the price.  Seriously.. $10.00 for a .17 oz bottle.  Roughly half the size of the OPI polish.  No thank you Birch box.  Not only is it too pricey, it does chip easily without a top coat.

Color Club-Insta-This  .25oz   Sold thru Birch box for $8.00 for .5oz.  Again a Debbie downer of a polish.  I was excited at first as I love the royal blue color.  But it applied somewhat streaky and then it faded in less than one day.  It didn't chip...It FADED.  I'd pay $2.00 for a full size.  The thing is I own A LOT of cheap polishes so I judge the pricey ones accordingly.  Why the hell would I pay four times the price for a polish that sucks worse than the $1.00-3.00 polishes.  I may be crazy but I am not stupid!  I will wear this though.  I will wear it when I know I am going to change out my color the next day, or as an accent nail that can easily be redone.  Perhaps it would make good dots in nail art.
Thank you new dear friend for sending it.  I really appreciate it and love the color, just not the formulation and staying power.  The nail swatch did not come out true to color sorry.  http://www.birchbox.com/shop/search?s=women&q=insta+this  here is the link.

Well my friends, hope you enjoyed my review.  Run out and get yourself a polish today.  Lets explore together and develop an unhealthy hoarding addiction together.  What do you say?
